The Christmas Story

The Christmas story in verse by Mark Fink.

The Christmas Story

The angel Gabriel was sent by God
To a virgin whose name was Mary.
Gabriel said she was highly favored,
But Mary just thought he was scary.

The angel told her not to be scared
And that God had great love for her.
God chose her to give birth to His Son
And this miracle soon would occur.

God said that His name would be Jesus;
A great Savior who would be King.
He'll be called the Son of the Highest,
And as King He would rule everything.

Nine months later they went to be taxed;
To Bethlehem, a town far away.
The small town was so filled with people,
That they found no place they could stay.

But while they were there, Mary gave birth;
In a stable she laid her new son.
They wrapped Him up in cloth to stay warm.
Jesus' new life on earth had begun.

Outside of town the shepherds kept watch,
Over their flocks of sheep in the night.
All of a sudden an angel came,
And the shepherds were filled with great fright.

The angel told them that they need not fear,
For I bring you great tidings of joy.
In Bethlehem a baby is born;
In a manger you'll find the sweet boy.

Then suddenly hundreds of angels
Were rejoicing and praising God's name;
Saying, "Glory to God in the highest,
And on the earth peace was proclaimed.
