#173 Praise Him! Praise Him!

Prayer of Confession and Assurance of Forgiveness: adapted from The Valley of Vision

Through our faith in Christ you have clothed us with a bridegroom’s robe and decked us with jewels of holiness. But in our Christian walk we are still in rags; our best prayers are stained with sin; our tears of remorse are so much impurity. In the name of Jesus, our Savior, we come into your presence to have your holiness confront our sinfulness.

In your kindness, lead us to repentance, true repentance, that we might learn to love your will. Grant us never to lose sight of the exceeding sinfulness of sin, the exceeding righteousness of salvation, the exceeding glory of Christ, the exceeding beauty of holiness, the exceeding wonder of grace.

Hymn: #182 My Song Is Love Unknown

Scripture Readings:

Genesis 49:8-12

Revelation 19:11-16
